Printing Posters for Graduate Students
Please Read Carefully Before Submitting
- Each graduate student is allowed to print one poster per year free of charge
- Posters must be formatted correctly and in the proper file format before they will be printed
- Appropriate file formats are:
- Adobe Photoshop (PSD)
- Adobe Acrobat (PDF)
- Adobe Illustrator (AI)
- Uncompressed Tagged Image (TIF)
- JPEG (JPG)
- Microsoft Publisher (PUB)
- Inkscape (SVG)
- Posters done in Powerpoint will not be printed due to software incompatibilities
- Posters should ideally have a white background in order to conserve ink and lessen the potential for a corrupted print job
- If a poster uses an inordinate amount of images or background art, the charge for the excess ink will be removed from a user's print allocation
- Whenever possible do not rastorize lines of text in order to avoid aliasing issues.
- Keep in mind that not all computers share all fonts. If a poster uses a more esoteric font (not Arial or New Times for example) please copy it along with the poster
