Wild About Science & History
An educational experience awaits your child at the
Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History’s annual Summer Nature Camps. Studying science and history help us to know
and understand the world around us. The
Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History allows your child to do just that in a
safe, fun, and educational setting.
Through non-traditional teaching techniques, campers are encouraged to
explore science, animal behavior, history, and their local environment through
interactive lessons and educational games and crafts.
Our facilities include classroom areas, the Discovery
Room, and a 40-acre park all of which will be used to enhance your child’s

Registration Information Refund Policy Extension Day Camp
Each session lasts one week, Monday through Friday, from

will be charged for pick-up after
Open Registration begins May 5th. Thereafter, registration
is on a first come, first serve basis. A 50% deposit will save and
confirm your place in the camp session. We must have your total camp fee

Let’s learn about the world of plants during the
Museum’s Gardening week. From building
bird feeders to attract local birds, to which plants grow best in your
backyard, as well as learning about what to do when you encounter those
critters that cause havoc in your garden, your children will enjoy exercising
their own little green thumbs!
Week 3: June 23– June 27: Underground
Adventurers
There’s a whole world right under our feet. This week we’ll explore the depths of the
Earth to learn all about the animals that prefer to call the underground their
home, as well as the many marvels found under our feet, such as caves and
caverns.
Week 4: June 30- July 4: Native
Peoples
There are many places around the world, including
(A let’s-pretend Pow-Wow will be held on Wed., July 4th. Hot dog lunch will be provided by the
Museum.)
Week 5: July 7-July 11: Fossilized
Friends
It’s the week you’ve been waiting for! Join us as we leap back in time to better
understand those clues our fossilized friends have left behind. From saber tooth tigers to hadrosaurs, we’ll
examine fossils and what we have learned from them.
Week 6: July 14-July 18: Body Quest
What is the average height of an adult human? How many
muscles are found in the human body? How
many internal organs does a human body have?
Let’s learn the answers to these and many more exciting questions this
week as we explore the human body.
Week 7: July 21-July 25: Water In Motion
Many living things call water home. Join us this week as we learn about these
creatures and take a closer look at why water is so important to humans as
well. We’ll dig deep to learn about
groundwater and paddle far to learn about the deep blue sea. (Water Play Day
will be held on Friday, July 25.
Campers are required to bring a change of clothes and towel.)

Bugs, & More
What’s creepy and crawly and calls your backyard
home? If you like spiders, frogs,
snakes, and similar animals you can’t miss this week! Join us as we embrace our creepy, crawly
neighbors and learn about those we need to watch out for.
Week 9: August 11- August 15: Space
Exploration
Join us this week as we travel into space and explore it’s many marvels.
From comets to constellations, let’s learn what outer space has to show
us. Don’t miss out!
